Excited and nervous!!!!

I'm on pins and needles!!!

Potential surrogate #1 had an appointment with her OB/GYN today, and just called me with the results. Her doctor says everything looks great from her standpoint, but she wants to make sure all the internal stuff looks good too before she signs off on the paperwork. She ordered some ultrasounds, and there "just happened" to be two cancellations while PS#1 was there, so she was able to get right in today!! (Coincidence, or divine intervention??!) The ultrasound results will take about 5 days, but if everything looks good, her doctor will give her blessing!! AHH!! I'm so excited, yet nervous too! PS#1's doctor has actually worked with three other women who were surrogates, so she's familiar with the process and is totally supportive - so reassuring!!

As always, I'm feeling so blessed right now. I'm trying not to think too far ahead - just taking one step at a time!! As part of this process, I've also been trying to take better care of myself, both physically and emotionally. I actually got hypnotized several weeks ago to help me make better healthy choices in terms of eating and exercise - you just never know - maybe my body just needs a natural kickstart to help me have normal cycles again.

Time out - you're probably thinking, what?! Hypnotized?! Yep! My coworker and I were talking one day about how hard it can be to "stay on track" with being healthy and I jokingly said "I seriously need to be hypnotized into thinking I love healthy foods and love to exercise." Low and behold, her mom did just that many years ago, lost a bunch of weight, and has kept it off! (She hasn't had french fries in 12 years or something crazy like that!) Well, whaddya know? A couple days later my coworker gets a Groupon e-mail for a hypnotherapy session for 2 for $29 (regularly $290!!!) She asked if I truly wanted to do it, to which I replied "heck yes, for $29 I'll try it!" We signed up right then, and for whatever reason they gave us $10 off! So, for both of us we paid $19 total for something that usually costs around $300. Awesome. Anyway......

The session was 3 hours long, and we were hypnotized 4 different times. I always thought that when you get hypnotized, you don't remember anything (flashback -1994: fellow high school students running around, squwaking like chickens and making fools of themselves after being hypnotized - um, no thanks!) Turns out that's totally not "real". I actually remember everything about being hypnotized.

Long story short - it was pretty cool and I think it worked - I'm down 9 pounds in 4 weeks!!! Granted, I've been doing Weight Watchers as well, but unlike other times I've tried WW, it's just easy this time around and I have no tempation to "cheat". I turned down Dar's pizza for crying out loud! (For those of you from my hometown, you know what that means!!!) Not sure if it's truly the hypnotizing that's doing it, or if I just think it is, but either way, I'm making better, healthier choices and it feels great! If anyone is interested in learning more about the hypnotherapy I attended - here's the link:  http://www.livinglitenow.com/

That's about all for now. So glad it's Friday! I will keep you all posted on what we find out from the ultrasound results!!
